It is the original dungeon crawl: The Black Pit that inspired a million Dungeons & Dragons adventure modules and acted as the template for every party that ever trudged into the depths of an underground world, torches at the ready. It is Moria and while the perilous journey of Frodo and his friends through the ruins of Khazad-dum takes up only a small portion of The Fellowship of the Ring, Tolkien’s tantalizing glimpse of forgotten chambers and mysterious caverns where nameless horrors and fabulous treasures wait has fired imaginations ever since.
We’d come to a place much less horrible but nearly as dark, a demonstration room with Executive Producer Jeffrey Steefel and Lead Producer Cardell Kerr for a first glimpse at Mines of Moria, the first expansion pack for The Lord of the Rings Online. - GameSpy

There are a number of interesting features in the multiplayer game that are designed to keep the action balanced and flowing smoothly. At certain points during the match, you’ll spawn near an objective and be assigned a “rival squad” that has been assigned the same task as your group. Players will earn extra points if they can either wipe out the rival squad or complete the objective first. Earning points will fill up a gauge on the top-left of the screen, allowing players to utilize boosts. A good example of this was the overshield that will briefly protect players from damage, as well as the temporary health boost.
Finally, there’s the multiplier mechanic, which should help to keep the playing field a bit more even. If a player gets on a roll and kills several enemies in a row, a multiplier icon (2x, 3x, etc.) will appear over his or her head. If you can take one of these players down, you’ll earn more points than if you felled a regular enemy. Since you’ll be able to locate enemies thanks to the big red icons over their heads, this means that it’ll be a lot tougher for a player to camp out and snipe players from afar without drawing any attention.
We definitely enjoyed our time with Resistance 2’s multiplayer offerings, but we can’t help but feel a little disappointed that we didn’t get to see any of this highly anticipated sequel’s single-player campaign. Still, this is shaping up to be one of better multiplayer titles on the PlayStation 3. - gamespy

In 1958, as part of the dedication ceremony for a new elementary school, a group of students is asked to draw pictures to be stored in a time capsule. But one of the students, a mysterious girl who seems to hear whispered voices, fills her sheet of paper with rows of apparently random numbers instead.
Fast forward 50 years to the present: A new generation of students examines the contents of the time capsule and the girl’s cryptic message ends up in the hands of young Caleb Myles. But it is Caleb’s father, professor Ted Myles (Nicolas Cage), who makes the startling discovery that the encoded message predicts with pinpoint accuracy the dates, death tolls and coordinates of every major disaster of the past 50 years. As Ted further unravels the document’s secrets, he realizes it foretells three additional events—the last of which hints at destruction on a global scale and seems to somehow involve Ted and his son.
When Ted’s attempts to alert the authorities fall on deaf ears, he takes it upon himself to try to prevent more destruction from taking place.
This gripping supernatural thriller charts one man’s faltering steps towards belief in the ultimate order of the universe even as he finds himself surrounded by mounting chaos. With the reluctant help of Diana Whelan (Rose Byrne) and Abby, the daughter and granddaughter of the now-deceased author of the cryptic prophecies, Ted’s increasingly desperate efforts take him on a heart-pounding race against time until he finds himself facing the ultimate disaster—and the ultimate sacrifice.
